These Humidity Control Sachets will lock in the moisture content by regulating the humidity inside your container. With that moisture locked in, weight loss is eliminated due to moisture evaporation, helping to maintain quality as well as will enhance color, aroma and taste.
The lifespan depends on how hard it has to work. The more moisture it has to give up, the harder it has to work and the more it takes away from the product’s life span. You’ll know it’s time to replace when it’s no longer pliable.
Boveda’s humidity control packages can be used for electronics, premium tobacco, food, music, medical devices, pharmaceuticals, and herbs.
It’s impossible for it to over-humidify beyond the RH on the pack. That’s why our usage instructions talk about minimums, not maximums. There’s no such thing as using “too much”. More than the minimum will just last longer.
62% Relative Humidity
Low humidity climates i.e Johannesburg (All year) Cape Town (Summer)
If herbs that are too dry are placed into a jar, the 62% will be more effective at replenishing moisture in the flower.
All herbs work beautifully but some will react differently to the different RH level. So testing is the best practice.
One more thing to note. One should never mix a 58% and a 62% in the same jar, as the packs will work against each other and run out very quickly.
